Internet masochism

I am in the unenviable position of being a Houston sports fan and someone still optimistic about the PlayStation 3. Everyday I get on the ESPN message boards for the Texans and defend the Mario Williams pick against vitriolic trolls, defend the Sahne Battier trade against idiots who don't know the NBA from XBox, defend the Astros against people who haven't been paying attention the last two years and read Joystiq and have to launch a counter offensive against the biased bloggers AND retarded Nintendo fanboys.

Why do I do this? Why do I push myself through this guantlet of uninformed posts with a fanatically irrational zeal?

Because I hate myself, it's the only possible explanation.

Because someone has to fight the battle against stupidity.

Though I suppose the well of stupidity is so deep, it ends up being internet masochism.

Maybe it is more satisfying than yelling at your radio listening to sports talk.

Oh, I liked the Battier trade too. :)
